Your role
Interested in working with financial data, risk and acting as the first line of defense in safeguarding our business? Do you want to work for a firm with a truly global footprint?
We’re looking for ambitious students to join our 2025 Internship Program within Quantitative Risk Modeling which is part of Group Risk Control.
You’ll get to:
- learn about and monitor known risks, while also discovering and defining unknown risks
- examine complex transactional risks and provide independent challenges in line with our risk control frameworks
- analyze, evaluate and support our risk modeling techniques to ensure that risk-based returns are appropriate
- drive the continuous enhancement of risk-related systems and infrastructure
Your team
You’ll be working in Corporate Credit Risk Modeling Department, more specifically in the Credit Decision- and Risk-based Monitoring team located in Zurich. We develop, refine and maintain credit decision- and risk-based monitoring models used to grant loans and identify credit positions with deteriorating risk profiles in our retail credit books. We initially develop our models as prototype versions by applying quantitative and statistical approaches, primarily in Python, R and SAS. We work together with IT engineers on implementation of the models into the productive IT environment. To effectively design performant solutions, we have to understand the portfolio specifics, products and markets and actively collaborate with different areas in the bank including other departments in Group Risk Control, Front Office and IT.
Your expertise
We’re looking for a candidate who:
- has completed at least 4 semesters of a bachelor’s degree, and graduated no longer than six months ago (bachelor’s or master’s degree)
- has values that align with ours: hard-working, trustworthy, dedicated and collaborative
- is a strategic thinker with strong communication skills
- is motivated to work in a business with high demands and tight deadlines
- enjoys diving into large datasets and using statistical programs to produce valuable insights for the business
- contributes to model development and model testing
- runs model prototypes
- performs analyses and reports
We’re looking for someone who’s curious and wants to thrive in a business that never stops moving. We welcome all majors, but it’s important to have an interest in the financial industry. We want to see what makes you unique and discover what you can bring to our team.
Start date: Flexible
Your program
This paid internship will last 6 months. You’ll work with our experts and learn about the industry, our clients and our firm. You’ll be right at the heart of our business, learning from your colleagues, taking part in day-to-day operations. You’ll be given mentors along the way and will have the chance to get to know some of the most senior members of our teams.
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and make contacts along the way. If you like challenges, enjoy learning and want to work where no two days are the same, this program is for you.
If you have a successful internship, you may get an offer to return for our Graduate Talent Program after you’ve completed your studies.
