About Decathlon

Since 1976, Decathlon has been on a mission: “Moving People through the Wonders of Sport.” Our global family includes 105,000 teammates, 2,000 stores in 70 countries, and 85 product brands. Our Swiss project started in 2016 and has rapidly grown to nearly 1,000 employees across 30 stores, supported by 5 key divisions (Logistics, E-commerce, Finance, HR, etc.). Decathlon Switzerland is scaling its digital products to provide seamless experiences for our users—whether they are renting high-end mountain gear, managing B2B partnerships, or creating content through our internal tools. We believe in autonomy, technical excellence, and the power of clean, reusable code.

The mission

We are looking for a Fullstack Developer with a “Frontend-First” mindset to join our engineering team. You will be a key player in architecting and building modern web applications that power our most strategic Swiss initiatives.

Your primary focus will be on Svelte, creating high-performance, reusable component libraries that will serve as the foundation for multiple platforms.

Key projects you will tackle :

  • Rental solution: Scaling our brand-new platform to make sports equipment more accessible through the circular economy.
  • B2B platform: Developing professional interfaces for our corporate and club partners.
  • Internal CMS and Tools: Building the “engine room” that empowers our internal teams to manage content and operations efficiently.

What you will do :

  • Architect and build: Design and implement robust frontend architectures using Svelte.
  • Component excellence: Develop a library of high-reusable frontend components to ensure UI/UX consistency across all platforms.
  • Fullstack delivery: Maintain and extend our backend services, primarily built as Cloud Functions (GCP) using FastAPI (and occasionally Flask for legacy services).
  • Collaborate: Work closely with UX/UI designers and product managers to translate complex requirements into elegant technical solutions.
  • Quality: Advocate for best practices in testing, documentation, and performance optimization.

Profil

Technical requirements:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in modern web development.
  • Svelte Expert: You have a deep understanding of Svelte (and SvelteKit) and know how to leverage its reactivity model to build snappy interfaces.
  • Frontend Specialist: You are obsessed with clean CSS, semantic HTML, and building accessible, reusable UI components.
  • Backend Knowledge: You are comfortable with Python. Experience with FastAPI or Flask is a significant advantage.
  • Cloud Native: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and serverless architectures (Cloud Functions).

Note to candidates: Even if you don’t check every single box but are a Svelte enthusiast with a passion for building great products, we want to hear from you!

Soft skills :

  • Team-oriented: You thrive in a team environment, value open communication, and actively contribute to collective success. You know that the best products are built through trust, alignment, and shared ownership.
  • Owner mindset: You take pride in the code you ship and the products you build.
  • Collaborative: You enjoy sharing knowledge and contributing to a growing developer community.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French or German is a strong plus.
  • Sporty: You share our passion for sport and the outdoors!

Why join Decathlon Switzerland ?

  • Innovation: The freedom to work with modern stacks (Svelte, FastAPI) in a fast-paced environment (GCP Severless).
  • Impact: Your work directly contributes to making sport more sustainable and accessible in Switzerland.
  • Flexibility: A hybrid work policy that respects your work-life balance ( 2 days of home offce per weekend)
  • Perks: Employee discounts, sports team outings, and a vibrant, “flat-hierarchy” culture.
