The opportunity

We are looking for a Secondary Design Engineer to join our GIS engineering team. In this role, you will support the execution of secondary engineering deliverables for high-voltage GIS projects, including Local Control Cabinet (LCC) and digital substation applications. You will contribute to engineering documentation across project phases and help deliver high-quality, standard-compliant results while building your expertise in secondary design engineering and tools such as Zuken E3.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Prepare schematics and related engineering documents for GIS secondary engineering scopes, including LCC and digital substation applications
  • Support engineering execution across project phases, from base design and detail design through manufacturing documentation and as-built updates
  • Create preliminary BOMs, reports, and manufacturing documents using approved engineering tools and standard processes
  • Perform structured self-checks and contribute to technically correct, high-quality, and standard-compliant deliverables
  • Support technical clarifications with internal stakeholders, project teams, and factories, and help document and close open points
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and engineering best practices, including participation in relevant expert communities
  • Apply internal guidelines, engineering standards, and quality requirements while supporting safe and efficient project execution

Your background

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in secondary engineering, design engineering, or project engineering is expected
  • Practical experience with engineering tools such as Zuken E3 or comparable ECAD / engineering tools is required
  • Basic knowledge of GIS, secondary engineering principles, and applicable standards such as IEC, IEEE, or ANSI is beneficial
  • Structured and reliable way of working, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate across functions and disciplines
  • Fluency in English is required; German and other languages are an advantage
