Internship – M&A Deals – Deal Analytics for 6 months

Your Impact

• As part of our Deals Analytics team, you are using a broad range of state-of-the-art tools and techniques to generate insights from large data sets and help our clients make more informed M&A decisions.
• Working on financial and commercial due diligence projects with private equity and corporate clients across all sectors, leveraging company, alternative and market data to derive insights on a company’s competitive positioning and performance.
• Process, analyze, and visualize complex data sets in order to design, develop and implement business intelligence (BI) tools for our clients, allowing them to monitor business performance and identify value creation opportunities.
• Participate in internal and client meetings and prepare written reports, summarizing findings in a concise, articulate manner.
• Support various upskilling initiatives (for instance around the use of Generative AI), enhancing our broader Deals team’s digital capabilities, and assist in developing tools to drive automation and efficiencies across our Deals practice.

Your Skill Set

• Current or completed studies in business administration, data science / analytics, economics, statistics, or information science, with a strong interest in solving quantitative and analytical challenges.
• First practical experience from internships or previous positions in high performing teams, preferably in data analytics, consulting, Big 4 and / or private equity. Ideally, you have worked in a dynamic, collaborative environment under time sensitive deadlines.
• Initial experience in leveraging data and business intelligence software to turn data into actionable insights on company performance. Strong understanding of and interest in financial statements, M&A transactions, and financial modelling.
• Strong familiarity and practical experience with data extraction / transformation, analytics, and visualization approaches as well as a high degree of data fluency.
• Proven skills in Excel, Alteryx and PowerBI. Knowledge and experience with basic programming is preferred but not required (e.g. Python, R, SQL, etc.)
• High degree of collaboration, ingenuity, and curiosity to apply advanced analytical tools and techniques to address client problems.
• Effective communication in English and German are a must.
