Your role

Are you an ambitious, results driven person? Are you keen on following the markets and working in a global team? Do you want to learn all about asset liability management?

We’re looking for someone like that to:

• learn the dynamics of financial markets in practice covering interest rate / foreign exchange derivative products and repurchase agreements
• price and book structural balance sheet transactions and supporting hedging strategies
• manage the liquidity and funding for UBS Group and for its entities, optimizing the usage of scarce resources
• learn to model economic variables such as interest rates and the characteristics of Wealth Management and Private Client’s loans and deposits based on time series analysis as well as develop replicating portfolio strategies using quantitative analysis to reflect the interest rate risk of various balance sheet items
• price and risk manage cross-valuation adjustments (XVA) across credit, funding, capital and initial margin for derivatives
• manage a broad range of risks, including but not limited to liquidity, trading execution, operational and compliance risk

Graduate Talent Program
Our Graduate Talent Program (GTP) lasts 18 months. You’ll be directly involved in day-to-day operations, working with professionals and gaining first-hand experience of our business.

As well as on-the-job learning, you’ll get training on the financial markets, our products and other core business topics. Rotational assignments are a key part of the program. By taking on other roles in related departments, you’ll gain a wider perspective.

Besides all that, you’ll attend networking events, cross-business classes and social occasions where you’ll get to know us.

Your team

You will be working in Group Asset & Liability Management (GALM) within Group Treasury in Switzerland, a trading business that manages UBS’s balance sheet portfolio risks. You will be helping us to deliver on our Treasury goals. The Swiss team is culturally diverse and offers applicants breadth and depth of understanding in trading and also asset / liability management. The risk positions of Asset Liability Management (ALM) are impacted by nearly every market risk factor and the applicant must combine ability to trade with the capacity to understand how a bank’s balance sheet operates.

Your expertise

You need have completed your bachelor’s or master’s degree.

In particular, you are:

• A self-starter, as well as a committed team player with good interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy the challenges of a fast-paced environment
• Able to work under pressure and quickly assess the risk versus. reward of a trade/decision
• A critical thinker capable of understanding complex numerical and analytical processes with attention to detail
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills and fluent German a bonus
