Your role

Do you know your way around numbers? Do you have an analytical mindset? We’re looking for someone like that to:

  • Update financial models and make forecasts
  • Conduct industry research related to manager’s coverage
  • Take part in IPOs (e.g. Write part of the report, create graphs)
  • Participate to company conferences in Switzerland
  • Update marketing presentations
  • Assist analysts on a daily basis (e.g. help collect data on company release day, find information on Bloomberg, create valuation tables etc.)

Our 6 month internship is an ideal way to gain the work experience you’ll need to launch your career. It’s also an opportunity to work with and learn from some of our sharp people in finance. From the start of the program, you’ll be right at the heart of the business, taking part in the day-to-day operations. You’ll not only learn about the business of finance from top to bottom, you’ll also experience our unique workplace culture.

Requirements

You need have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree and have not yet completed your master’s degree. In particular, you have:

  • 4 semesters completed at a University or a University of Applied Sciences preferably with a focus on Finance, Business Administration or Economics
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)
  • Excellent English language skills (oral and written)
  • Strong analytical, mathematical and english writing skills
  • Team-player, open-minded, proacitve, communicative and stress-resistant
  • Interested in equity markets

You’ll be working in the Equity Research team which offers an insight into our corporate culture and working environment as well as the chance for you to work along with some of the best people in the industry. For those with initiative, flexibility and commitment, this is an opportunity to get hands-on experience and develop your professional skills at one of the most prestigious financial services providers in the world. Equity research is a demanding, diversified and interesting discipline that requires manifold skills.

In essence, equity analysts publish research reports on listed companies, recommending a buy, hold or sell decision on the respective shares. These recommendations are communicated and marketed to internal (sales force) as well as external clients (institutional investors). The publication of research reports requires an in-depth understanding of the sector, industry trends and the companies covered. Detailed financial modelling based on disclosed data, but also regular meetings with companies’ top management teams are important sources of information. Interns in the equity research department are expected to support senior analysts in data sourcing, financial modelling and the preparation of research reports.
