As of 1st July 2020 the former ABB Power Grids business was carved-out of ABB, and today forms Hitachi ABB Power Grids (HAPG), a joint venture between Hitachi and ABB. The carve-out and the new organizational set-up have created a dynamic environment. The Finance team in Baden is currently reviewing and improving processes whilst at the same time also performing in our daily tasks and duties. Furthermore, the HAPG group is introducing a new global ERP system (SAP) to drive standardization and harmonization of our internal processes, and Switzerland was elected as pilot. We are looking for a highly motivated intern to support us on the transformation journey, with process improvements, daily tasks and ERP implementation. The duration of the internship is 6 to 18 months.

Your responsibilities

  • Prepare documentation of selected Finance processes (i.e. Flowcharting, standard operating procedure (SOP) descriptions)
  • Support quarterly Pension Accounting for the Swiss entities (IAS 19)
  • Provide Local GAAP (OR) advice to other functions across the organization
  • Prepare statutory Financial Statements for the Swiss legal entities
  • Support with the cooperation with external auditors (participation in meetings with auditors, supporting in preparing documents for the auditors)
  • Prepare financial reports for the Swiss authorities
  • Maintain the Authority Table for the Swiss organization (that includes all business units and central functions)
  • Additionally, support the CSS Front Office Finance Manager with selected topics related to the continuous improvement of Finance processes

Your background

  • Student in an area like Business Administration (ideally with know-how in Accounting & Reporting)
  • Service-oriented mindset, proactivity and structured mindset
  • Business acumen; ideally some first internships or work experience
  • Excellent communication skills, a self-driven work style as well as a collaborator and team player with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Fluent in English, German as a plus
  • Good knowledge in MS Office and IT skills (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, etc.)
