With our competence centre Power Converter Solutions, we have a leading position in the development, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of high power electronic converters mainly for STATCOM and Rail Power Supply Converters as well as for static frequency converters for industrial applications. We also built the world’s largest drive for a hydro pump station. So, with our high efficient converters we contribute to the integration of renewable energies into the electrical grid of tomorrow and at the same time increase the overall system efficiency. To strengthen this motivated team, we are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Electrical Engineer with high interest in power electronics and control technology. Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning of control and protection systems for power electronic converter projects including support of the sales department in the concept and tender phase
  • Responsible for the specification for the programming and documentation of the control software as well as the specification for the fabrication and test documentation of the hardware
  • Select auxiliary components and define technical requirements and interfaces with sub suppliers
  • Software design with 800xA Compact Control Builder and with Matlab / Simulink
  • Verify your software on the real-time simulator as well as in the finished device
  • Bring the software into service and operate as a support specialist for the service group as well as for the customer
  • Perform commissioning and customer training on site
  • Prepare the technical documentation of your work and work in a strong project team in collaboration with your colleagues from the control team, the project manager and the systemand mechanical engineering

Your background

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering (university / technical college, Bachelor or Master) with sound experience in process control and software design (including 800xA Control Builder or another structured text language) and Matlab / Simulink
  • Comprehensive knowledge in the field of control engineering and power electronics (Static Frequency Converters)
  • You are fluent in German and in English.
  • Enjoy global traveling and commissioning of 15% of the working time
  • Responsible team player with strong communication skills
  • Fast learner for new techniques/applications and procedures
  • Experience of working in multicultural / international environment
