Help our clients successfully manage global challenges

Our Swiss market-leading Deal Transformation and Post-Merger Integration Team advises Swiss Corporate and mid-market clients to generate and create value from their Mergers & Acquisitions, Divestitures, and Carve-outs. With a dedicated team of experts, we deliver integration and separation advisory services, leading complex engagements with our clients, and deploying deep functional expertise in finance, human resources, commercial, supply chain, and technology. At Deloitte, we support our clients on end-to-end M&A advisory, working closely with our colleagues from transaction services, valuations, and corporate finance. As part of the Strategy, Risk and Transactions Business Line, we further collaborate with our Strategy, Sustainability, Regulatory and Forensics and Technology peers to ensure a seamless and value-driven approach to transactions.

The Traineeship is six months long, starting in September 2025, with possibility of conversion to Consultant at the end of that period - we look forward to your application!

How you will make an impact

  • You will contribute your ideas and problem-solving skills to drive tasks throughout the deal cycle, adopting an interdisciplinary approach.
  • You will deploy critical thinking in supporting client deliverables, as you take on increasing responsibilities.
  • You will collaborate closely with experienced team members and translate the deal rationale into actionable plans for senior clients across diverse industries.
  • You will play a key role in innovating our offerings within the M&A lifecycle, utilising AI platforms to streamline various use cases.
  • You will conduct operational and financial analyses to evaluate potential merger synergies, assess the impact and complexities of carve-outs, and identify performance improvement opportunities for buyouts and corporate divestments.

Who we are looking for

  • Result-oriented, highly motivated to lead and be challenged in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with a focus on strategic decision-making and attention to detail, alongside a proven ability to simplify complex concepts, create executive-level narratives, and synthesise value effectively.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from top-tier universities with exceptional academic marks.
  • Strong acumen for project and stakeholder management, with high-quality skills in Excel, PowerPoint and executive storytelling.
  • Aptitude with AI technologies and a keen interest in embedding AI solutions into our offerings to enhance client outcomes and drive innovation.
  • Relevant M&A working experience in one of the main Swiss industries, i.e., financial services, life sciences, consumer, and/or industrials is considered a plus.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent interpersonal skills and experience working within an international community. Language proficiency in German or French is desired.
